Location: Houston, Texas. This role is primarily on-site, with limited hybrid or remote flexibility available depending on experience, performance, and business needs.

Note: An active Texas attorney license is the only hard requirement for consideration. Prior workers' compensation experience is preferred, with approximately 1+ year being an ideal background, but it is not required to interview.

Job Description

  • Handle and support workers' compensation matters from initial intake through resolution
  • Review medical records, claim documentation, and other evidence
  • Assist with case strategy, claim evaluation, negotiations, and settlements
  • Communicate with clients and other parties regarding case developments
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings and other proceedings as appropriate
  • Draft correspondence, legal documents, and case-related materials
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations
  • Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
  • Take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Bar license required
  • Workers' compensation experience preferred
  • 1+ year of workers' compensation experience is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple matters
  • Bilingual ability is a significant plus
  • Attorneys at any career level may be considered
