Working Student (m/f/d) Human Rights

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Working Student to support our Human Rights Office in implementing and overseeing social sustainability initiatives and projects. You will be part of an international team, working cross-functionally to drive positive social impact and ensure responsible business conduct across the Hapag-Lloyd Group and its value chains.

  • Assist the Human Rights Office in executing and monitoring social sustainability projects and initiatives
  • Support due diligence processes, including risk assessments and data collection
  • Monitor the progress of planned actions and ensure timely implementation
  • Engage with stakeholders and document project activities for effective collaboration
  • Update and maintain relevant working documents and records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist with administrative tasks and research and analyze human rights-related topics and trends
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth project execution and provide support and assistance as required by the Human Rights Office
  • Currently enrolled in a fulltime Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, Sustainability, Business Ethics, Social Sciences, Law or a related field
  • Strong interest and passion for human rights, corporate sustainability, and responsible business practices
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as a commitment to ethical business practices and a desire to make a positive impact
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with Large Language Models
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, as well as an excellent time management and organizational skills
