Working Student Marketing and Communications (m/f/x)

About the role

We're digitising rail freight, and marketing is how the industry hears about it. As a working student in our Marketing and Communications team, you'll be close to the work that shapes how Rail-Flow shows up in the market: on LinkedIn, at industry fairs, in our newsletter, and in the way we talk about our products.

This is a hands-on role in a small team, so you won't be filing busywork. You’ll take ownership of real tasks, see your work go live, and get honest feedback. If you like variety, moving quickly, and learning by doing, you'll fit in well here.

What you'll do
  • You'll support the Marketing and Communications team across our B2B marketing activities, including:
  • Helping create content for LinkedIn, from copywriting to visuals and short animated videos. Experience in Claude Design is a real plus.
  • Helping organise our presence at industry fairs and internal and external events, such as railXchange.
  • Designing branding and marketing material that stays true to our look and voice.
  • Researching trends, competitors, and developments in the rail and logistics industry, and turning what you find into something the team can use.
  • Supporting our monthly newsletter and working in our CRM. Experience with HubSpot is welcome.
  • Supporting our PR and external communications.
You'll work closely with the whole team and get room to bring your own ideas in. We use AI tools daily, so you'll build on whatever experience you already have and learn a lot more here.
  • Curiosity for the industry. You're genuinely interested in rail freight and logistics, or curious enough to want to understand it. No prior industry knowledge required.
  • Studies. You're currently studying Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Ideas and initiative. You enjoy contributing ideas, developing concepts for campaigns, and like taking ownership rather than waiting to be told.
  • Hands-on and quick-thinking. You keep track of several projects at once and stay organised when things move fast.
  • Communication. You're confident in German and English, written and spoken.
  • Digital skills. You're comfortable with social media and common digital tools; solid basics are enough. Confident with Microsoft Office, and ideally familiar with tools like Canva, Vimeo, Jira and Confluence.
  • AI and tools. Some experience with AI is a plus, ideally you know how to prompt (for example Claude). Familiarity with HubSpot is welcome too. Whatever you don't know yet, you'll pick up here.
  • A team player. You take a proactive approach, enjoy responsibility, and like working as part of a team.
  • First-hand experience in marketing, communications, or PR is a plus, but not a must. What matters more is attitude and curiosity.
  • A deep dive into a fast-growing scale-up with a motivated, international team and a steep learning curve.
  • Real support wherever you need it, and the freedom to shape your own work.
  • Help move an entire industry from road to rail, working on marketplace and software solutions that matter across logistics.
  • An international team that combines senior experience from both corporate and startup worlds, with locations in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Izmir, and Rotterdam.
  • Hybrid working from our modern offices at the HOLM in Gateway Gardens, with the option of home-office days.
  • High-quality IT equipment and regular team events.
