Workplace Health Consultant

Open 58d

The Company
Vitality Works is part of the Sanitarium Group — a health and wellbeing company that has been helping Australians and New Zealanders live well since 1898. As the workplace health services arm of the Group, we deliver practical, evidence-based programs that improve both physical and mental health across high-risk industries.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Workplace Health Consultant to support delivery of a national health and injury prevention program across multiple sites in New Zealand.

This is a casual / part-time role, working a few days per month, with travel to sites as required. It’s well suited to someone looking to complement existing clinical or consulting work.

The role is centred around delivering and reinforcing our SafeSpine™ SafeMind program — helping workers move better, manage fatigue and stress, and build practical habits that reduce injury risk.

You’ll be engaged for key delivery days across different locations, running workshops and follow-up sessions, while building strong on-the-ground engagement with site teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver SafeSpine™ SafeMind workshops and refresher sessions across multiple sites

  • Support pre-start warm-ups (SafeStarts) and engage with site leaders

  • Provide one-on-one coaching and practical, in-field support

  • Deliver short toolbox talks on movement, fatigue, stress, and recovery

  • Reinforce key program principles on site — not just in the classroom

  • Build rapport quickly with workers and local leadership teams

  • Provide feedback and insights to support ongoing program improvement

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (Physio, EP, Osteo, Chiro, Ex Science or similar)

  • CPR & First Aid certification

  • Experience in injury prevention, manual handling, or workplace health

  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and travelling as required

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage blue-collar workforces

  • A practical, down-to-earth approach — able to make health relevant on site

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible, ad-hoc work that fits around your existing schedule

  • Opportunity to deliver a national program across a range of sites

  • Work that is hands-on, practical, and focused on real behaviour change

  • Be part of a team delivering meaningful impact across New Zealand workplaces
