Workplace Health & Safety Officer
Responsibilities
- Advise project teams on effective workplace safety and health measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance
- Conduct daily inspections of project work and activities to identify and address safety hazards
- Lead and support investigations into near misses, incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences to determine causes and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain project safety documentation including risk assessments and safe work procedures
- Deliver internal safety training sessions to enhance team awareness and compliance
- Manage and lead a team of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Coordinators to execute safety programs effectively
- Prepare detailed safety and statutory reports in required formats for regulatory and management review
- Organize safety promotion campaigns, health initiatives, and training courses to foster a safety culture
- Ensure all safety practices comply with statutory regulations, contractual obligations, and internal management systems
- Liaise with government authorities to maintain regulatory compliance and address safety concerns
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with the Land Transport Authority (LTA)
