Workplace Safety and Health Officer

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and enforce appropriate workplace safety and health measures in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and relevant regulations.
• Ensure supervisors and workers strictly comply with approved Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), risk assessments, and other established safety requirements.
• Conduct regular and daily worksite safety inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Proactively identify workplace hazards and provide practical solutions to prevent incidents and accidents during daily operations.
• Supervise and monitor workers to ensure that safety measures and procedures are properly implemented in compliance with applicable government regulations.
• Organise monthly Safety Committee Meetings and prepare safety-related reports, including the monitoring and follow-up of outstanding safety issues.
• Compile, maintain, and update all relevant WSH records, reports, inspection checklists, and safety documentation.
• Ensure daily safety checklists are properly completed, documented, and followed up where necessary.
• Conduct and document Toolbox Meetings and Safety Briefings across project sites.
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, prepare the necessary reports, and submit iReport where required.
• Liaise with MOM and other relevant authorities on WSH-related matters, inspections, and queries.
• Keep abreast of the latest requirements, regulations, and legislation issued by MOM, WSH, NEA, SCDF, and other relevant authorities, and ensure that project teams are updated accordingly.
• Coordinate with relevant site personnel to continuously improve worksite safety standards, housekeeping, and site cleanliness.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the management from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered WSH Officer with MOM.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge and experience in Occupational Safety and Health Management.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations, legislation, and workplace safety requirements.
• Proactive, with strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
• Able to work independently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
