Workplace Safety & Health Officer ( LTA Projects )
Summary
Oversee site safety teams and enforce workplace safety regulations on LTA infrastructure projects, conducting inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with WSH standards.
Job Description
- Oversee and lead the site safety team and subcontractors in the implementation of the Company’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management system.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and safe work practices at all times.
- Liaise closely with site staff, supervisors, and Project Managers on all safety, health, and environmental matters.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Monitor compliance with WSH regulations, Company safety procedures, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and assist in the preparation of reports and corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and safety-related training when required.
- Assist in safety planning, emergency response preparedness, and incident prevention initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement of the EHS management system through effective implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and BizSAFE requirements.
- Coordinate and liaise with government authorities, auditors, consultants, insurance representatives, and clients on all WSH matters.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to safety inspections, permits, reports, and compliance requirements.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned under the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Company policies.
Job Requirements
- Must be a MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
- Possession of additional certifications such as NEA-registered ECO, PUB-registered ECMO, and SCDF-registered FSM will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in LTA infrastructure, cycling path, road works, or similar civil engineering projects.
- Good knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and LTA safety requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across departments and project teams.
- Possess Class 3 driving licence; own transport will be an added advantage.
- Candidates who are able to start immediately or within short notice will have an advantage.
