Job Summary
As a Workplace Safety Health Officer, you will lead and execute operational workplace safety and health (WSH) initiatives to ensure safe construction environments. You will collaborate with project teams and occupiers to implement effective safety measures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and fostering a culture of safety across worksites.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of workplace safety and health (WSH) protocols in compliance with legal requirements to maintain safe construction sites
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions that mitigate risks on-site
- Collaborate with occupiers and project teams to develop and execute safety measures that prevent workplace incidents and promote a safe working environment
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in occupational safety and health standards
- Respond proactively to safety concerns and incidents, coordinating timely investigations and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence
- Support the organization in fulfilling all operational WSH duties to uphold safe construction practices throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform additional occupational safety and health tasks as assigned to support overall site safety and compliance objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Registration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
- Level C certification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or a Degree in WSH
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a WSH Officer, preferably in public infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player with diligence and responsibility
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours with compensatory time off as required
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant construction industry experience and project involvement.
