Workshop Assistant

EnerMech is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Workshop Assistant to support our Lifting Solutions operations in Trinidad & Tobago. This role is ideal for an individual looking to build a career within an engineering and industrial services environment.

The successful candidate will assist with workshop activities including equipment preparation, cleaning, painting, material handling, and general housekeeping while ensuring all work is performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, prepare, and shot blast mechanical components and equipment.
  • Paint selected mechanical parts and equipment as required.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of containers, materials, and equipment.
  • Support workshop technicians with operational activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
  • Record completed work using company reporting systems and documentation.
  • Ensure company tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Complete all required training and competency assessments relevant to the position.
  • Follow all company procedures, standards, and work instructions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work safely in a workshop and industrial environment.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a workshop, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and hand tools.
  • Experience with painting, blasting, or material handling activities is advantageous.
