The Company...
The company specialises in mechanical repairs, inspections, and maintenance of a variety of trucks including European, Japanese and American brands. They offer state-of-the-art technology for diagnosing issues in order to implement accurate solutions. They are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead a team of workshop staff based in Banyo, QLD. The team is required to deliver the timely servicing and repair of clients’ heavy vehicles, with the highest standard of workmanship.
The Position...
In this position, you will be required to work autonomously between the hours of 6am to 4pm, where you will be responsible for leading daily workshop operations. You will be accountable for the timely servicing and quality of work performed at the workshop, as well as driving effective communication and a positive culture amongst the team.
Some of your specific tasks will include:
- Must be able to assist and direct the mechanics and work on floor when
required.
- Liaising directly with customers and managing issues that arise from time to time.
- Organising day to day work and prioritising workflow as required.
- Ordering of parts and consumables.
- Checking job cards and paperwork to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
- Overseeing the workshop staff.
- Explaining service options and processes.
- Effective communication with colleagues.
- Ensuring the workshop and all practices are compliant with relevant workplace health & safety legislation and regulations.
The Ideal Candidate...
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Certification III
- Valid Australian truck driver’s licence
- High customer relationship management and focus including problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
- High level of communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Sound computer knowledge and familiar with Xero.
- Ability to perform to a high standard in a busy environment.
- The ability to create strong relationships with customers.
