**** Purpose**** Felton Energy Services Ltd specialist rotating-machines workshop handles repair, refurbishment, rewinding, maintenance and testing workshop in Port Harcourt. The Workshop Manager will have overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of the facility and will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians and workshop personnel. The successful candidate must be a technically strong, hands-on engineering professional with substantial workshop management experience and proven practical expertise in the repair, overhaul, refurbishment, rewinding, testing and servicing of large industrial electric motors and generators, together with pumps and associated rotating equipment.
Experience & Professional Requirements
Minimum 15 years’ proven experience in a senior workshop management role within rotating electrical machinery, power generation, heavy engineering, oil & gas or industrial maintenance. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background (Degree/HND/OND or equivalent preferred). Strong hands-on experience repairing, overhauling and servicing large industrial electric motors and generators. Proven experience with generators and motors up to 11.75 kV / 11 kV-class equipment. Practical experience with pumps and other large rotating mechanical equipment. Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and workshop teams of up to 30 personnel. Strong understanding of electrical rotating machines, mechanical rotating equipment, workshop processes, quality control, testing and commissioning. Excellent planning, leadership, reporting, cost-control and customer-facing abilities.
Technical Responsibilities
Overhaul, repair, refurbishment and rewinding of AC motors and generators up to 11 kV-class. Manage major generator inspections, rewinds, refurbishment, testing and return-to-service activities. Repair and maintenance of pumps, fans, gearboxes and associated rotating machinery. Vibration analysis, dynamic balancing, laser alignment and precision mechanical alignment. Electrical and mechanical inspection, fault diagnosis, testing and assessment of rotating machines. Condition monitoring, diagnostics and technical reporting.
Workshop Management Responsibilities**
Full operational responsibility for workshop productivity, quality, safety, manpower and delivery. Plan and control workloads, manpower allocation, equipment utilisation and production schedules. Lead and supervise a team of up to 30 engineers, technicians and support personnel. Establish and enforce workshop quality-control procedures, inspection and test plans. Manage workshop tools, test equipment, lifting equipment, calibration and preventative maintenance. Provide technical input into tenders, quotations, project estimates and delivery schedules. Develop the workshop into a competitive centre of excellence for rotating-machine repair in Nigeria and West Africa. Manage major repair, maintenance, refurbishment and service projects from mobilisation through completion. Act as senior technical point of contact for customers during workshop projects. Attend customer sites to inspect equipment, diagnose failures and establish repair scopes. Support outage works, diagnostic programmes and long-term service agreements.
