Workshop Manager
Job Description
- Lead the entire workshop team and manage daily workshop operations to ensure smooth delivery
- Plan, schedule, and monitor all maintenance and repair works to ensure they are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Manage inventory of spare parts to ensure adequate stock levels
- Oversee and allocate workshop resources efficiently to optimize workflow and minimize downtime
- Monitor workload and performance of workshop staff to ensure productivity and quality of work
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry protocols in the workshop
- Ensure proper documentation for all repair and servicing works completed, including detailed records of parts used
- Develop and maintain the competency of the workshop team through ongoing training, development, and mentoring
- Act as the point of contact for government-related queries at the workshop (eg. worker safety etc.)
- Address any customer complaints related to workshop services
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Min. 10 years of experience in managing a large-scale heavy vehicles workshop is preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good knowledge of truck maintenance, repair processes, and spare parts management
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
