The Opportunity:

Lindsay Transport is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our Derrimut operation.

This is more than a workshop management role. It's an opportunity to take ownership of a busy heavy vehicle workshop, mentor and develop a skilled team, and play a key role in maintaining one of Australia's leading transport fleets.

We're looking for a genuine leader who earns respect through action, builds strong teams, drives accountability, and creates a culture where safety, quality and performance are non negotiable.

If you're passionate about developing people, improving workshop performance, and leading from the front, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide strong, visible leadership and direction to the workshop team
  • Lead, motivate and support employees to achieve individual and team performance goals
  • Set clear expectations and drive accountability, productivity and quality
  • Coach, mentor and develop apprentices and workshop employees
  • Foster a positive, respectful and safety-focused workshop culture
  • Lead by example and be prepared to get hands-on when required

Workshop Operations

  • Oversee the planning, prioritisation and allocation of work across the workshop and maintenance team
  • Manage the repair, maintenance and testing of a high-volume heavy vehicle fleet and associated mechanical and electrical components
  • Monitor workflow and workshop priorities to minimise downtime and keep the fleet moving
  • Provide technical support to the team and assist with breakdowns and call-outs when required
  • Raise and process repair and purchase orders and oversee stock and receivables
  • Ensure workshop documentation, maintenance records and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Work closely with operational teams to respond to changing fleet and maintenance priorities

About You:

You're an experienced workshop leader who understands that successful operations are built on strong people, clear expectations, and a culture of continuous improvement.

You know how to balance workshop demands, fleet availability, team development, and operational priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience leading a workshop, fleet maintenance, or heavy vehicle operation
  • A Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Trade Qualification or significant industry experience
  • Proven success leading, coaching, and developing tradespeople and apprentices
  • Experience within transport, logistics, fleet, agricultural, or related industries
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and resource management skills
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the front
  • A commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business

Experience across Kenworth, DAF, Cummins and BPW equipment will be highly regarded.

What’s On Offer:

  • Competitive Remuneration Package + Company Vehicle
  • Modern, clean, state of the art workshop and well-maintained vehicles
  • Recognition and rewards for key service milestones
  • Get a $1500 reward for referring others to Lindsay
  • Score a 40% discount on Ringers Western merch and 15% off Bridgestone Tyres
  • Lease your next Vehicle pre-tax through our Novated Leasing partner
  • Access to financial support to complete training & tickets
  • Ongoing career development and transfer opportunities in our growing Aus-wide business
  • Supportive, safety-first and inclusive workplace culture
