About NIVA Health

At NIVA Health, we believe everyone deserves to live their best life. Our mission is to revolutionize healthcare by providing innovative, high-quality solutions that elevate the well-being of our patients and communities. Join us in shaping a healthier future!

We are dedicated to leading healthcare innovation by providing patient-centered, insurance-based services that offer long-term solutions. Our wound care program brings specialized treatment for chronic and non-healing wounds directly to patients where they live, supported by a telemedicine model that keeps physician oversight close at hand.

Why NIVA Health?

  • Comprehensive Home-Based Wound Care: Our clinical teams treat diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical dehiscence, and other complex wounds in the comfort of patients' homes — a critical service for non-ambulatory and homebound patients.
  • Telemedicine-Enabled Oversight: Physicians review wound images and clinical data remotely and consult by video, allowing specialized wound expertise to reach patients regardless of location and without delay.
  • Insurance-Based Services: Our services are insurance-covered, ensuring specialized wound care is accessible to a broad patient base without compromising quality.
  • Advanced Modalities: We use regenerative and advanced wound care therapies, including cellular and tissue-based products, tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
  • Whole-Patient Approach: We integrate functional medicine principles to address the nutritional deficiencies, glycemic control issues, and chronic conditions that drive delayed healing — treating the patient, not just the wound bed.
  • Empowerment through Education: We educate patients and caregivers on dressing care, offloading, and lifestyle modifications that support durable healing and prevent recurrence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telemedicine consultations and initial wound assessments, establishing the diagnosis, wound etiology, and plan of care.
  • Review wound photographs, measurements, and serial documentation to track healing trajectory and adjust treatment.
  • Direct dressing selection, offloading and compression strategies, debridement plans, and infection management, including antibiotic stewardship.
  • Determine candidacy for advanced modalities and cellular/tissue-based products, and document medical necessity in accordance with payer coverage criteria.
  • Provide supervision and clinical oversight to Nurse Practitioners performing in-home wound visits, ensuring quality and consistency of care.
  • Identify wounds requiring escalation — vascular evaluation, surgical consultation, or higher level of care — and coordinate appropriate referral.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records and maintain clinical governance standards.
  • Foster a compassionate, patient-centered atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) holding a permanent, active, unrestricted license issued by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Must be actively practicing within the geographic boundaries of South Carolina. South Carolina law requires that a physician entering into a practice agreement with, or supervising, an advanced practice provider hold an active, unrestricted, permanent South Carolina license and actively practice within the state. Applicants whose clinical practice is located entirely outside South Carolina are not eligible for this role.
  • Must also hold a permanent, active, unrestricted license issued by the North Carolina Medical Board. This role supports patients in both states, and North Carolina licensure is required.
  • Must be credentialed, or willing and able to complete credentialing, with North Carolina payors — including Medicare, NC Medicaid, and our contracted commercial plans. A clean credentialing history (no payor sanctions, exclusions, or unresolved malpractice actions) is required.
  • Clinical experience in wound care management; certification through the American Board of Wound Management (CWSP) or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers.
  • Comfort with telehealth platforms and photo-based wound assessment.
  • Available between 8 am and 6 pm for patient consultations and provider oversight.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Salary: $100,000 plus per year.
  • Malpractice coverage.
  • Continuing education assistance to support your professional growth.
  • Employee discount on NIVA Health services.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • No on-call requirements, allowing for work-life balance.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, no weekends.

Work Location: Remote. Active SC and NC medical licenses required. Physician must be actively practicing within the geographic boundaries of South Carolina.
