Become the Wound Program Coordinator/Employee Health you always wanted to be
- Functions as Wound Program Coordinator/Employee Health Nurse on designated shift. Administers annual PPD screening for all employees, students, and volunteers.
- Oversee and develop wound care and employee health services in adherence to regulatory standards and physician orders.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to provide guidance on wound care treatments.
- Lead educational efforts for hospital staff on wound care topics, as well as educating patient and family members on wounds and wound care.
- Maintain continuous education and stay updated on the latest wound care techniques and advancements.
- Direct the managerial functions of our Infection Control/Employee Health Program.
- Assure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines.
- Analyze hospital infection data to identify trends, clusters, risk factors and variances.
- Manage hospital policies consistent with applicable infection control guidelines and standards.
- Perform surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
- Assists in coordination of clinical rotations and student orientation packet completion.
- Trains staff in new hire orientation (departmental) and assists in general hospital orientation.
- Assists with projects and audits.
- Assists with staff training in QI certification and other required training.
- Coordinates preceptor program.
Qualifications
- License/Certification: RN, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist required for acute rehab hospitals; RN required for long-term acute care hospitals.
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum one year of wound care experience is required.
- Continuous education in wound care through seminars/professional organizations is required.
- Skills: Effective communication, decision-making, and the ability to work autonomously.
