Support the planning and execution of campus events by setting up and striking event spaces, assisting guests, and ensuring smooth operations. This active role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Unload equipment and set up venues including chairs, tables, and stages – C, TW, P, CT, L
  2. Work independently under the Event Coordinator’s instruction – C, TW, P, CT, CTR, CSD, L, T
  3. Ensure correct event space setup per specifications – C, TW, P, CT, CSD, L, T
  4. Adhere to event safety standards – C, TW, P, CT, CSD, L, T
  5. Provide excellent customer service to attendees – C, TW, P, CT, CTR, CSD, L, T
  6. Assist with event security duties – C, TW, P, CT, CSD, L, T
  7. Support IT and AV needs during events – C, TW, P, CT, CSD, L, T
  8. Provide information and directions to eventgoers – C, TW, P, CT, CTR, CSD, L, T
  9. Inspect and report equipment damage – C, TW, P, CT, L, T
  10. Pack up and store equipment post-event – C, TW, P, CT

Education Requirements: Previous event setup or related experience preferred.

Preferred Skills: PowerPoint, Social Media & New Technology, attention to detail, customer focus, willingness to learn, ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, strong verbal and written communication, and teamwork.

Work Schedule: Sunday through Saturday; hours vary based on event workload.

Work Conditions: Heat, cold, odors/smoke, noise, vibrations, wetness, humidity, dust, light intensity.

Physical Demands: Reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling, pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs, lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.

Pay Rate: $10.50/hour

Location: HPE 7th Floor and event spaces across campus
