Support faculty research by transcribing, indexing, proofreading, and assisting with analysis of historical texts. Ideal for students with attention to detail, strong typing skills, and interest in historical political scholarship.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Type with complete accuracy a transcription of a scanned book into a Word document – T, CT, P
  2. Complete a careful index of relevant themes and concepts found in the book for publication – CSD
  3. Effectively communicate with supervisor about problems that arise in the process of completing work – P, CSD, T
  4. Read and understand the speaking patterns of nineteenth-century American writing – T, CSD
  5. Assist supervisor with proofreading of original written material – CSD
