Job Summary

Work as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer cum Environmental Control Officer to ensure construction site compliance with safety laws and environmental standards, lead audits and investigations, and promote a strong safety culture.

Job Information

  • Location: Hougang
  • Contract duration: 3 months
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
    Saturday, 8am to 5pm
  • Immediate availability to start

Responsibilities

  • Ensure construction activities comply with the WSH Act, Approved Codes of Practice, and relevant standards to maintain legal and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) to verify control measures are implemented and communicated effectively to all workers.
  • Lead internal safety audits and enforce timely follow-up actions to address identified risks.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences; prepare detailed reports and propose preventive measures to reduce future risks.
  • Notify MOM of reportable incidents in compliance with WSH regulations to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Conduct safety inductions for new staff, facilitate toolbox meetings, and deliver refresher briefings for high-risk activities to promote ongoing safety awareness.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident investigations, RA/SW submissions, training attendance, and equipment inspections for audit readiness.
  • Prepare and submit monthly WSH reports to management and clients to communicate safety performance and issues.
  • Liaise with authorities such as MOM, NEA, and PUB for inspections, audits, and follow-up actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Advise the Project Manager on WSH compliance and risk matters, highlighting safety trends and recommending improvement plans to enhance site safety.
  • Ensure the site is prepared for the CONSASS audit to meet certification standards.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Valid WSHO certification as required to perform Workplace Safety and Health Officer duties.
  • Valid ECO certification as required to perform Environmental Control Officer duties.
  • Proven experience in WSHO and ECO roles to effectively manage safety and environmental compliance.
