Part-time Workplace Safety and Health Officer supporting an infrastructure project by monitoring compliance, facilitating safety meetings, and maintaining WSH documentation.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing occupational safety and health (WSH) procedures to enhance workplace safety
- Communicate WSH KPIs to Site/Project Managers and track performance to ensure safety targets are met
- Provide advice and guidance on safety matters to employees to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Participate in project planning and design stages to identify and address WSH considerations proactively
- Monitor compliance with WSH legislative requirements and safe work procedures, liaising with authorities on safety matters
- Coordinate rehabilitation programs for injured workers and monitor emergency drill conduct to ensure preparedness
- Facilitate and participate in regular EHS meetings, toolbox talks, and mass toolbox briefings to promote safety awareness
- Enforce correct and safe practices at all times, recommending and issuing Stop Work Orders when unsafe conditions arise
- Review safety inspection reports, follow up on corrective measures, and ensure timely rectification of unsafe practices
- Monitor safety-related training programs to raise awareness and instill a safety culture among employees
- Maintain proper WSH documentation and records, ensuring readiness for safety audits
- Lead by example to promote workplace safety, health, and environmental responsibility across projects
- Review and continuously improve WSH practices, SOPs, and guidelines to align with industry standards and company objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Safety Officer (MOM) certification
- Strong knowledge of the WSH Act, related legislation, and occupational risk analysis methods
- Proficiency in safety management systems, facility monitoring, and OSHA guidelines implementation
