X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To perform diagnostic radiographic procedures under the direction of the Lead Radiologic Technologist and provider team, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care through accurate imaging, patient positioning, radiation safety, and clinical preparation in accordance with ALARA principles, OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and FoundCare’s clinical standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complete diagnostic radiographic examinations as directed by providers using digital x-ray and electronic medical record systems, following established protocols.
• Adhere to OSHA bloodborne pathogen exposure guidelines, universal precautions, radiation safety standards, ALARA principles, and all applicable policies and safeguards in the administration of radiographic services.
• Maintain HIPAA protections and ensure an environment that protects the confidentiality of patient personal health information in the x-ray suite and general health center.
• Communicate proactively with providers and the radiologist to ensure timely and accurate administration and results for x-ray services.
• Verify patient identification and imaging orders prior to performing procedures.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and answering questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and effectively, monitor equipment performance, and report maintenance issues.
• Transmit, store, and manage diagnostic images using the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly quality control tests and develop reports documenting continuous quality improvement activities to the Medical Director.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Assist with scheduling appointments, documenting medical records, and coding and billing for insurance purposes as related to digital x-ray services.

• Comply with all FoundCare policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
