XRD Lab Analyst I - Novi, MI

Summary

Performs routine X-ray diffraction (XRD) sample prep and analysis, interprets results, and maintains lab instruments and LIMS records in a materials-testing lab.

Job Title: XRD Analyst I

Job Summary:

The incumbent will work independently and/or as part of a team to provide operational support to the laboratory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job requirements may include, but are not limited to:

• Unsupervised routine sample preparation

• Performs non-complex routine analyses independently

• Complex sample preparation with senior analyst oversight

• Data review and interpretation for routine, non-complex analyses

• Data review and interpretation of complex tests with senior staff oversight

• Perform duties in the laboratory information management system (LIMS)

• Reviewing SOP’s, WI’s and FCD’s

• Assist in duties in other areas of the laboratory when needed

• Data Entry

• Internal systems/processes

• Simple routine maintenance on the instrumentation they have been trained on

• Assist with QA investigations

Skills

• Comprehensive computer skills – Internet, MS Office

• Able to operate lab instruments including relevant software and computer programs

• Quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks

• Follows safety requirements including the appropriate use of safety glasses, gloves, lab coats

• IDC sample requirements are met

• Company procedures and policies are adhered to

• Turnaround times are achieved

Education, Certifications, and Experience (required)

• Bachelor’s degree in a science related field

• 1-4 years of applicable laboratory experience

• Ability to interact with clients and all levels of staff

• Detail oriented, self-starter, strong written and verbal skills

• Capable of making sound decisions quickly and effectively

• Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
