Y2S - Youth2Seniors Internship (Active Ageing Centre)
Summary
Intern at an Active Ageing Centre supporting social, wellness, and engagement programs for seniors while gaining experience in community care and multidisciplinary teamwork.
As an Intern at an Active Ageing Centre (AAC), you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community-based eldercare. You will support the planning and delivery of social, wellness, and engagement programmes that promote healthy and active ageing among seniors in the community.This role offers meaningful exposure to the community care sector, direct interaction with elderly clients, and experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Ideal for students pursuing studies in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Community Development, or related fields.
You will need to:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of centre-based activities, workshops, and events
- Engage with seniors through meaningful conversations and participation in daily programmes
- Support the documentation of programme attendance, feedback, and evaluation data
- Help coordinate outreach efforts and door-knocking exercises to engage vulnerable or isolated seniors
- Assist in volunteer management tasks such as onboarding, scheduling, and appreciation activities
- Participate in community engagement events and health screenings (where applicable)
- Shadow staff during case work or home visits (if permitted and appropriate) to gain deeper understanding of community care
- Perform ad-hoc administrative duties to support daily centre operations
