Opportunity for local high school students to work in a field they may be interested in pursuing further schooling towards. A student considering future schooling in Maintenance programs after graduation would be a perfect fit for our Operations/Manufacturing track. If a student is possibly interested but just not sure, let us know and we will arrange a tour to check out our facility.

General Description / Summary –
We are seeking a motivated high school student for a Maintenance Youth Apprenticeship in a CNC machining environment. Working directly alongside skilled maintenance technicians, the apprentice will learn how to service, troubleshoot, and maintain precision manufacturing equipment. This role connects classroom learning with hands-on mechanical and electrical experience.
Reports to - Operations Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-

- Be a positive contributor to the Team to help reach the scheduled goals.
- Assist technicians with preventative maintenance (PM) on CNC mills, lathes, and routers.
- Check fluid levels, change filters, and lubricate machine components regularly.
- Clean and clear chip conveyors, coolants, and workspace areas to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Learn to diagnose minor mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues under strict supervision.
- Organize maintenance tools, manage spare parts inventory, and document completed tasks.
- Adhere strictly to manufacturing safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping and Safety standards and adhere to all Company policies.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in an approved high school Youth Apprenticeship Program (ideally with a Manufacturing focus).
- Strong interest in CNC machinery, robotics, mechanics, or industrial maintenance.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, mechanical drawings, or hand tools is a plus.
- Dependable work ethic with a high attention to detail and safety.
Educational Level- High School Junior or Senior
Previous Experience-
- Having Manufacturing experience would be a plus.
- Having a good work history.
Physical Demands - Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs., and safely navigate the manufacturing floor.
