The LA Clippers Youth Basketball Program is looking for responsible, energetic and committed coaches to support Jr. Clippers events (youth basketball clinics/camps, youth basketball tournaments, community activations) and Game Day activations. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with young athletes and be part of a team shaping the next generation of basketball fans and players in the Los Angeles area.

This is a part-time role based in Inglewood, CA for Intuit Dome games and the surrounding Los Angeles area for skills clinics and camps. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, school breaks, summer programming, and select holidays. Youth Basketball Coaches must be available to work at least 25% of all shifts per month.

What You Will Do

  • Teach basketball fundamentals through age-appropriate skill development drills and activities.
  • Ensure participant safety during all transitions, check-in/check-out, breaks, and off-court activities while maintaining a positive and organized environment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that builds confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game for participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Collaborate with fellow youth basketball coaches to deliver a fun, high-energy experience.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong sportsmanship.

Your Background, Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with youth (coach, camp counselor, teacher, or similar) required.
  • Ability to lead and supervise youth ages 6–14 in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
  • Committed to fostering skill development, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Passionate about basketball and representing the LA Clippers brand.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Reliable, organized, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Available to travel locally throughout Southern California, including Antelope Valley, Greater Los Angeles, South Bay, and Orange County.
  • Willing to transport basketball equipment as needed.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Essential Functions of the Job (Physical Requirements & Working Conditions)

  • Ability to participate in physically active programming.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment or materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead and horizontally as needed to perform job duties.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or remain in a stationary position for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Outdoor work may include exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity, and direct sunlight.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, school breaks, summer programming, and select holidays based on business needs.

Compensation

  • $18.42 per hour.
