Pay: 15 hour
Important: This is an onsite residential position and requires direct interaction with youth, including assisting with daily living activities, transportation, crisis situations, meals, housekeeping, and other residential responsibilities.
St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) is seeking dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented Youth Care Workers to join our residential team. Youth Care Workers provide direct care, supervision, structure, mentoring, and support to youth in a therapeutic residential setting.
This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while working as part of a supportive treatment team.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct supervision, care, and support to youth in a residential setting.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor, helping youth develop appropriate behaviors, life skills, and independence.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment consistent with each child's individual treatment plan.
- Build positive relationships with youth while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Provide crisis intervention and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional situations.
- Use approved physical intervention/restraint techniques when necessary to prevent a child from harming themselves or others.
- Lead or participate in recreational activities, group discussions, and other constructive activities.
- Transport youth to school, medical appointments, activities, and other destinations as required.
- Assist with new admissions, referral interviews, and intake activities as needed.
- Monitor and document medication administration/consumption in accordance with organizational policies and applicable requirements.
- Assist youth with personal hygiene, clothing, meals, and other daily living needs.
- Purchase food, plan menus, and prepare meals for the residential program.
- Perform routine housekeeping and laundry duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and homelike environment.
- Complete required documentation, logs, incident reports, and other records accurately and on time.
- Attend staff meetings and treatment team meetings as required.
- Complete all required onboarding and annual training.
- Identify and report facility or grounds maintenance and safety concerns.
- Follow all SAYS policies, procedures, safety requirements, and treatment practices.
- Assist with agency activities and fundraising events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
