Youth Community Support Specialist

Location: Hannibal, MO
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Centerstone is seeking a compassionate and motivated Youth Community Support Specialist (CSS) to provide community-based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families. In this rewarding role, you'll work one-on-one with youth to help them develop healthy coping skills, improve daily functioning, strengthen relationships, and achieve their individualized goals.

What You'll Do

• Provide community-based support services to children, adolescents, and families.
• Help youth develop essential life skills, coping strategies, social skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Assist youth in achieving goals identified within their individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to support positive behavioral change.
• Build trusting relationships with youth and families while encouraging engagement in treatment and services.
• Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, schools, physicians, and other community providers to support client success.
• Advocate for youth and families by connecting them to community resources and supportive services.
• Support youth in developing healthy routines, improving school performance, and strengthening family and peer relationships.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and skill-building activities in individual and group settings.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related human services field; OR
• Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with at least two years of qualifying experience; OR
• Any combination of higher education and qualifying experience totaling four years; OR
• Associate degree in Behavioral Health Support; OR
• Four years of qualifying experience.*

Qualifying experience includes: providing support, coaching, mentoring, skill development, or behavioral health services to children, adolescents, or adults with mental health, substance use, or developmental challenges.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
• Ability to travel throughout the community to meet with clients, families, schools, and community partners
• Ability to work independently in community-based settings while maintaining regular communication with the treatment team
