Starting Compensation:

21.33 - 22.43 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Torrance, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Part Time, 24 hours a week (flexible schedule)

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications)

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required

  • Experience: Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems

  • Licensure & Certification:

    • YP II - SB803 - Peer Support Specialist Certification required

    • YP I - SB803 - Peer Support Specialist Certification required within one (1) year of hire

    • Valid California Driver's License and maintenance of a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy

How you will make a difference:

The Youth Partner serves as a peer ally and mentor to children and youth receiving Wraparound services. Drawing from their lived experience in systems such as child welfare, behavioral health, and juvenile justice, the Youth Partner offers authentic support, fosters trust, and champions the voice and choices of the child/youth (referred to as “youth” in this document). They are a symbol of resilience and hope, modeling the possibility of healing and success. The Youth Partner prioritizes emotional support, peer connection, and advocacy. Throughout the Wraparound process, the Youth Partner advocates to ensure the youth’s lived experience is recognized, their voice is heard, and their autonomy is respected

Division/Program Overview:

  • Programs: Comprehensive Behavioral & Social Support Services

  • Population Served: Children, Youth, Adults, and Families battling trauma, mental illness, neglect, or substance abuse | Capacity: 40,000+ individuals served annually across ~60 program sites statewide

  • Facility & Setting: Multidisciplinary program sites (~60 locations across California, including outpatient, residential, and community-based settings)

  • Clinical Services: Trauma-informed care, mental health treatment, and substance abuse interventions

  • Length of Stay: Varies by specific program track and setting (ranging from acute/short-term to ongoing outpatient support)

  • Skills & Transition:

    • Strengths-based empowerment, resilience building, and long-term recovery/re-integration support

    • Family support, skill development, advocacy, and comprehensive community resources
