Youth Support Specialist (Behavioural Support) (1-Year Contract | GOVT)

We are looking for a Youth Support Specialist (Behavioural Support) to support a residential youth-care environment. You will coach frontline Youth Guidance Officers in managing residents with behavioural complexities and help strengthen the team’s practical behavioural-support capabilities.

📍 Nearest MRT: Boon Lay
🕘 Working Hours: 9.00am – 6.30pm (Monday to Thursday), 9.00am – 6.00pm (Friday)
💰 Salary: $3300/Month

Responsibilities:

• Identify capability gaps and provide practical, scenario-based coaching to Youth Guidance Officers on areas such as de-escalation techniques, crisis prevention, trauma-informed responses, and related topics.
• Facilitate practical learning sessions using approved training materials.
• Provide on-ground coaching support during actual youth engagements.
• Observe and document youth behaviours to support behavioural planning and case discussions.
• Develop practical resources, including guides, checklists, and templates, to support the team’s daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions conducted, residents supported, behavioural observations, and staff progress.
• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
• Strong experience working with youth, including hands-on exposure in behavioural support, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention.
• Prior experience managing youth offenders within a residential facility would be advantageous.
• Experience working with youth and/or individuals with special needs.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices, behavioural observation frameworks, sensory regulation, and relational engagement techniques.
• Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex behavioural concepts into practical guidance for Youth Guidance Officers.
