Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Maintenance Supervisor, the Zamboni Driver is responsible for maintaining a quality ice surface through scheduled resurfacings and other assigned ice maintenance at the Le Sueur Community Center. The Zamboni Driver is also responsible for the cleanliness of locker rooms, bathrooms, lobby, bleachers, hallways, and other assigned areas.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Operates ice resurfacer and performs general maintenance of ice resurfacer.
• General maintenance including janitorial and related cleaning activities.
• Enforces building security procedures, including opening and closing the facility.
• Maintains tools and equipment used in daily operations.
• Assists in special events preparation.
• Attends regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
• Effectively and respectfully communicates and interacts with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers.
• Performs physical and mental demands and work environment requirements for this position.
• Performs other related functions as assigned or apparent to achieve the goals and objectives of the Public Services Division.

Equipment Used:

This position uses a variety of equipment including, but not limited to ice edger, pool vacuum, ice resurfacer, small tools, floor scrubber, mops and brooms, vacuum, mowers and weed whips, trimmers, pickups, blower, and utilizes a wide variety of motorized, electric, and hand tools as well as vehicles.
