Job Overview
The QCT Advanced Diagnostics & Test (ADT) Lab is seeking an Engineering Technician to work closely with the engineering team prior to lab operations. The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting engineering development, validation, and readiness of test platform activities in a laboratory environment. This role focuses on the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and validation of Development Test Platforms (DTPs), Engineering hardware, and Engineering devices used in Automotive and Mobile technology projects. The technician works closely with engineering teams to ensure test platforms, equipment, and laboratory infrastructure operate reliably and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, ESD compliance, asset control, and laboratory organization. Strong English communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with global teams across multiple regions and time zones. The candidate should be open-minded and adaptable, with a willingness to support ad hoc tasks based on evolving business needs. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• The responsibilities involved are below but not limited to:
• Test Platform Setup and Validation
• Set up and configure Development Test Platform (DTP) platforms on Racks, Benches and Chambers for existing and upcoming engineering projects.
• Perform set-up validation, functional checks, and readiness assessments prior to engineering handover.
• Execute set-up upgrades, modifications, and validation activities based on engineering requirements.
• Submit test jobs on designated DTP platforms.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair setup-related hardware and system issues.
• Perform device and hardware component replacement, swapping, and reconfiguration as required by engineering teams.
• Provide technical support to engineers during validation, debug, and development activities.
• Respond to ad-hoc technical requests and special projects to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• RMA engineering operations and validation requirements.
• Enable and manage remote access permissions for external and global engineering stakeholders.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

• Operate, monitor, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment – Thermal Chambers, SLT Titan Systems, Handler Equipment, Thermal Control Units (TCU), Oscilloscopes, W1 Equipment, Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
• Ensure equipment readiness, calibration compliance, and proper utilization to support engineering activities.
• Asset and Inventory Management
• Track, control, and maintain engineering hardware assets and test equipment.
• Engineering devices inventory for both Automotive and Mobile platforms.
• Coordinate the shipment, receipt, and tracking of hardware components and engineering materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and asset accountability.
• Laboratory Operations, Safety, and Compliance
• Enforce strict ESD controls and best practices throughout the laboratory.
• Maintain 5S standards, cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety across all benches and workstations.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory operating procedures, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and operational excellence.
