Every year, millions of children and youth around the world lack access to the social and financial skills they need to thrive in an increasingly complex global economy. Aflatoun International exists to change that - providing high-quality Child Social and Financial Education (CSFE) that empowers young people to become agents of change in their own lives and communities. Founded in 1991 in Mumbai, India, Aflatoun International has grown into a dynamic global network operating through a social franchise model with over 300 partner organisations across more than 100 countries. The organisation develops and continuously upgrades evidence-based curricula tailored to different age groups: AflaTot for children ages 3-6, AflaToun for primary school children, AflaTeen for teenagers, and AflaYouth for young adults. These programmes are contextualised to local needs and translated into over 50 languages, addressing issues ranging from girls' empowerment to environmental education and peacebuilding. Aflatoun's impact has been independently verified through randomised controlled trials, tracer studies, and World Bank-partnered evaluations. The organisation has been recognised globally by institutions including Brookings, Harvard, HundrEd, and the Million Lives Club for its high-impact, low-cost model that effectively changes behaviours and improves financial habits among participants. Through initiatives like Global Money Week and the Global Social and Financial Skills Conference, Aflatoun continues to raise awareness and advocate for social and financial education as essential components of quality education worldwide.
