Cardiac rehab deserts leave patients without the exercise, training, and education they need to recover from heart events. Transportation barriers, fear of congregate settings, language challenges, and caregiver dependencies prevent millions from receiving the care they deserve. Dr. Ed Wu, a cardiologist, and Abhishek Chandra came together to solve this problem by launching Recora (now Aviary Health) - a virtual care platform designed from the ground up to expand access to cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and care management programs. The company partners with health systems to deliver AI-powered workflows combined with expert clinical teams, supporting service lines from referral to outcomes. Since its founding, Aviary Health has facilitated nearly 400,000 virtual patient visits and published clinical outcomes demonstrating significant cost and care quality benefits.
