About

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) is the leading global organization driving sustainability across the cotton supply chain. By developing and promoting the Better Cotton Standard, BCI enables growers, ginners, spinners, brand owners, NGOs, and governments to adopt more responsible farming practices that protect the environment and support thriving cotton‑producing communities. To date, BCI’s network of field‑level partners has trained over 2.9 million farmers in 26 countries, resulting in 22 % of the world’s cotton being cultivated under the Better Cotton Standard. BCI’s strategic goal is to double the production of Better Cotton by 2030, expanding its farmer training program to 5 million participants and further integrating sustainable practices throughout the industry. The initiative offers professionals a purpose‑driven environment where they can contribute to measurable environmental impact, community development, and the transformation of a key global commodity.
