Braven is a groundbreaking nonprofit organization devoted to empowering underrepresented young people, particularly first-generation college students, students of color, and those from low-income backgrounds. We understand the challenges faced by these individuals as they pursue their educational and professional dreams, and we are determined to create pathways to success for them. While the pathway of obtaining a college degree is intended to open doors to strong jobs and economic mobility, barriers such as lack of access to networks, mentorship, and career readiness programs often impede many from achieving their goals. Our mission at Braven is to bridge that gap by providing the skills, confidence, experiences, and networks necessary for these students to thrive. The cornerstone of our approach is the Braven Accelerator program, a semester-long initiative that combines rigorous academic work with real-world applications. Through this program, our Fellows learn essential hard and soft skills while working on real-life challenges in collaboration with peers. They benefit from one-on-one mentorship and coaching from dedicated professionals who serve as Leadership Coaches, guiding them through their journey towards securing strong first jobs and pursuing meaningful careers. Since our founding in 2013, we have partnered with a variety of educational institutions to ensure that the promise of a college degree translates into real-world opportunities for all our students. Together, we are not just creating job-seekers but future leaders.
