The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is committed to addressing the urgent issue of homelessness in Colorado. Founded in 1984, the organization has evolved over 40 years into a leading voice and provider of integrated housing, health care, vocational, and supportive services aimed at preventing homelessness and creating lasting solutions for individuals and families experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. With a dedicated workforce of approximately 800 employees, the Coalition is relentless in its mission to provide critical assistance that not only addresses immediate needs but also paves the way for long-term stability. At the core of the Coalition’s approach is the belief that housing is a fundamental human right. As part of its comprehensive strategy, the Coalition employs the Housing First model, which prioritizes rapid access to housing without any preconditions. This method is essential in breaking the cycle of homelessness, allowing individuals to regain stability, find employment, and access healthcare. The Coalition operates 23 permanent supportive housing properties and provides services every year to thousands of individuals, advocating for their rights and for policy changes that promote affordable housing and access to healthcare. We believe that persistent advocacy, coupled with a robust framework of services, is crucial in building a community where everyone has a safe place to call home.
