About

CommerceIQ's journey began in 2012, initially as Boomerang Commerce, with a focus on providing dynamic pricing software to help multi-brand retail companies compete more effectively with giants like Amazon. Founder Guru Hariharan, a seasoned technology and business leader with extensive experience at Amazon and eBay, recognized the seismic shift in the retail landscape. He saw that algorithms, not just human managers, were increasingly driving critical e-commerce decisions related to inventory, pricing, promotions, and search rankings. This realization was the catalyst for a significant pivot. While Boomerang Commerce found success and its retail analytics platform was eventually acquired by Lowe's, Hariharan understood that a new breed of solution was needed for brands themselves to navigate the algorithmic nature of online marketplaces. This led to the evolution into CommerceIQ, a company singularly focused on empowering brands to win in this new algorithmic retail environment. The mission became to build the operating system for brands in e-commerce, a platform that could intelligently automate and optimize operations across the entire e-commerce value chain – from supply chain and marketing to sales. The company secured significant funding, including a Series D round that propelled it to unicorn status with a valuation exceeding $1 billion, underscoring the market's recognition of the critical need CommerceIQ addresses. Key acquisitions, such as e.fundamentals, further expanded CommerceIQ's capabilities, particularly in digital shelf analytics, and broadened its global reach to hundreds of retailers across numerous countries. Today, CommerceIQ stands as a leading Retail Ecommerce Management (REM) platform, leveraging machine learning and automation to help some of the world's largest consumer brands, including Nestle, Colgate, and Whirlpool, drive profitable market share growth by making smarter, faster decisions in the complex and ever-evolving world of online retail.
