About
Turning stem cells into human eggs, our mission is to help parents have kids and to make future generations healthier. We are pioneering a stem cell technology known as in-vitro gametogenesis (IVG), which has the potential to allow families to conceive children at much older ages, remove barriers for couples experiencing infertility, and enable individuals to have biological children regardless of their circumstances. In the long term, this ground-breaking technology could serve as a critical platform for extensive genetic screening, potentially eradicating and mitigating the risks of devastating diseases affecting future generations, including Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and various cancer types. Our laboratory focuses on replicating the natural egg cell development process that occurs in the female body by generating induced pluripotent stem cells from blood samples and guiding these cells through the stages needed to become viable eggs. We are making strides toward translating this technology into human applications, aiming to provide safe and accessible reproductive treatments.
