The journey of Customized Energy Solutions (CES) began in 1998, born from a pivotal moment in the American energy landscape. It was in this environment that founder Stephen Fernands, after a unique path that took him from an ROTC scholarship to the Moody Bible Institute and eventually to a temporary role at Peco, saw a pressing need. He recognized that many participants in this new, competitive market required expert guidance to navigate the intricate rules and seize the opportunities that were unfolding. What started as a one-person consultancy from this entrepreneurial vision has since blossomed into a global force for innovation in the energy sector. From its headquarters in Philadelphia, CES embarked on a mission to foster transparent, efficient, and non-discriminatory energy markets. This mission propelled the company's growth from a solo venture to a team of over 350 professionals spread across offices in the United States, India, Japan, and Canada.
