envelio is an award-winning clean-tech software company founded in Cologne, Germany, in April 2017 as a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University. Our customers, primarily distribution system operators (DSOs), face the immense challenge of integrating a rapidly growing number of renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, as well as new consumer solutions like electric vehicle charging stations, into their existing power grids. These integrations are crucial for the global energy transition but place significant strain on current grid infrastructure and traditional operational processes, which are often manual, time-consuming, and lack the necessary data transparency for efficient decision-making. This leads to delays in connecting new green energy sources, potential grid instability, and increased costs for both operators and end-users. To address these challenges, envelio developed the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP). The IGP is a software assistance system designed to transform power grids into digital, flexible, and interactive smart grids. Our customers benefit from the IGP's ability to create validated digital grid models using machine learning, automate and accelerate grid planning processes, and analyze grid states in real-time to prevent congestion. By providing a unified platform for data management and process optimization, we empower DSOs to make faster, more informed decisions, significantly reduce the processing time for connection requests, and efficiently manage the increasing complexity of modern power grids. This ultimately helps our customers to lower operational costs, improve service quality for their grid users, and accelerate the integration of renewable energies, contributing to a more sustainable and reliable energy future worldwide.
