We are FM Global, a mutual insurance company with a rich history dating back to 1835. Our journey began when Zachariah Allen, a Rhode Island textile mill owner, sought to reduce his insurance premiums by making proactive property improvements to minimize fire damage. This was a revolutionary concept at a time when loss prevention was virtually unheard of. Allen's belief that most property losses can be prevented, not just insured against, became the cornerstone of our philosophy and continues to guide us today. We operate on a unique business model where risk and premiums are determined by engineering analysis rather than solely relying on historical actuarial calculations. Our dedicated engineering personnel regularly visit insured locations to evaluate hazards and recommend improvements, helping our clients reduce their physical and financial risks. Over the nearly two centuries since our founding, we've grown from a small group of like-minded mill owners into one of the world's largest commercial and industrial property insurance and risk management organizations. We partner with many of the world's largest organizations, including more than one-third of Fortune 1000 companies, across more than 100 countries. Our approach is centered on resilience.
