What began in 1999 as a specialized procurement consulting firm has blossomed into a global powerhouse for digital transformation in supply chain and procurement. Founded in Clark, New Jersey, by four entrepreneurs—Subhash Makhija, Roopa Gandhi, Jagadish Turimella, and Neha Desai Shah—GEP, originally known as Global eProcure, set out with a clear mission: to help large enterprises enhance their purchasing efficiency and achieve significant cost savings. In its early years, the company built a formidable reputation by securing contracts with several Fortune 500 clients, delivering high-impact strategic sourcing and procurement transformation projects that laid the groundwork for its future expansion. This initial focus on consulting provided a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by global corporations, a foundation that would prove invaluable in the years to come. Recognizing the limitations of existing technologies, GEP embarked on a strategic pivot, making the bold decision to develop its own proprietary software. This led to the launch of GEP SMART, a unified, cloud-native source-to-pay (S2P) platform built on Microsoft Azure, designed to manage both direct and indirect procurement. The journey didn't stop there. As global supply chains faced unprecedented disruptions, GEP introduced GEP NEXXE, a comprehensive platform for supply chain management, and later GEP Quantum, an AI-powered, low-code platform to accelerate digital innovation. This evolution from a service-led to a technology-driven solutions provider has defined GEP's trajectory. Today, with a global team of thousands spread across offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, GEP serves over 450 of the world's most influential companies, combining fresh thinking, innovative AI-powered products, and deep domain expertise to deliver unified solutions of unmatched scale and effectiveness.
