The story of Intracom Telecom is a journey of transformation and enduring innovation that began in 1977. What started as a modest operation named Intracom, with just 10 employees in a small building in a suburb of Athens, Greece, was born out of a vision to manufacture and assemble telecommunication equipment to serve domestic needs. In its early years, from 1977 to 1982, the company focused on designing and developing specialized telecommunications applications. A significant turning point came between 1983 and 1985 when Intracom relocated its headquarters to Peania, a town near Athens. This move was a strategic investment in creating a high-tech infrastructure dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of state-of-the-art telecommunications products, laying the groundwork for its future as a technology powerhouse. The company's growth accelerated, and by the early 1990s, it had become the largest provider of telecommunications and information systems in Greece. This period was marked by significant agreements in the Greek telecommunications sector and set the stage for international expansion. A pivotal moment in its evolution occurred in December 2005 when the original Intracom S.A. was transformed into a holding company, Intracom Holdings. From this restructuring, the telecommunications business unit emerged as a distinct entity: Intracom Telecom. Over its more than four-decade history, the company has been a key player in major ICT projects worldwide, earning numerous awards for its technological advancements and work environment. Today, Intracom Telecom stands as a global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, employing over 1,800 highly-skilled professionals. It maintains its own R&D and production facilities and operates subsidiaries across the globe, serving over 100 customers in more than 70 countries. Its core offerings have expanded to include wireless access and transmission, telco and enterprise software solutions, ICT services for smart cities, and energy solutions, solidifying its reputation as a benchmark in the global technology landscape.
