What began in 2004 in a modest basement with just six employees has blossomed into Lakshya Digital, India's largest game art outsourcing studio and a significant global player in the video game industry. The early years were focused on establishing a foothold and building a reputation for quality. By 2007, the company had already set up its Pune studio and crossed the 100-employee mark, signaling its initial phase of growth. The following year, 2008, saw Lakshya Digital expand its horizons by establishing a US sales office and commencing work on notable projects like WWE. A key international milestone was the opening of a Japan sales office in 2011, as the company's headcount surpassed 150. Growth continued with new studio facilities in Gurgaon and Pune in 2012. A pivotal moment in Lakshya Digital's journey arrived in 2014 when it was acquired by Keywords Studios, a global leader in technical and creative services for the video game industry. This acquisition provided Lakshya with greater resources and a broader international platform, and by this time, the company had grown to over 200 employees. The expansion didn't stop there; a Seattle studio was established in 2015, followed by a Japan studio in 2018, and a UK studio in 2020, the same year managed services were officially deployed. The company's workforce continued to swell, crossing 350 employees in 2015, 650 in 2022 with the setup of a Bengaluru studio, and 800 in 2023 with the addition of a Manila Studio. Now, with over two decades of experience, Lakshya Digital boasts a team of over 1,000 professionals across eight worldwide locations, having contributed to over 175 AAA titles for leading global developers on platforms including PC, Mobile, Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Their journey from a small startup to a global force in game art creation, known for 2D and 3D art, animation, and VFX, underscores a persistent commitment to excellence and adaptation in the dynamic video game landscape.
