In 2016, Nautilus was founded on the recognition that existing proteomics technologies were fundamentally inadequate. Traditional methods could only measure about 30% of the human proteome, suffered from low throughput, and required months of specialized training to operate. Co-founder and Chief Scientist Parag Mallick envisioned a bold scientific leap - a platform that could comprehensively analyze the proteome with unprecedented sensitivity and ease of use. He conceptualized the Nautilus Proteome Analysis Platform and partnered with co-founder and CEO Sujal Patel to bring this vision to life. Today, Nautilus is building a revolutionary proteomics platform that uses hyper-dense single-molecule arrays containing billions of "landing pads" to isolate individual proteins. By iteratively probing these proteins with multi-affinity probes and applying machine learning algorithms to interpret binding patterns, the platform aims to identify and quantify up to 95% of the human proteome. This technology promises to transform drug development, enable earlier and more accurate diagnostics, and usher in a new era of personalized medicine - positively impacting the health of millions around the world.
