At Shinola, we're passionate about crafting handcrafted, high-quality goods that are built to last. Our journey began in 2011 when we decided to take a stand against the disposability culture that has characterized modern consumerism. Instead of accepting that manufacturing has left America, we chose to invest in Detroit—bringing jobs and craftsmanship back to the city. Our name, inspired by a classic American brand, embodies our commitment to quality. In 2012, we established our first watch factory in Detroit, marking the first U.S. watch production in nearly half a century. Since then, we have expanded our offerings beyond watches to include leather goods, jewelry, and audio equipment, all manufactured with the same enduring standards. With our flagship store opening in 2013, we have transformed products and lives alike by nurturing local craftsmanship and sharing the story of Detroit’s rich manufacturing heritage.
