We are SimpliSafe®, and our mission is to make every home secure. We fundamentally changed the alarm industry, pioneering a new way to make home the safest place on earth for everyone. Founded in 2006 by Chad Laurans and Eleanor Laurans, we set out to create a home security solution that was not only effective but also affordable and accessible. This came after several of their friends in the Cambridge area experienced break-ins but couldn't find a security company designed to help renters. We worked on SimpliSafe in our own home from 2006 to 2008, with Chad designing the system and testing it with friends for feedback. We officially launched in 2009 with initial funding from angel investors, introducing the industry's first do-it-yourself (DIY) home security system. Today, we protect millions of people across the United States and the United Kingdom. Our commitment to our founding goal remains steadfast: to make every home secure. We're constantly innovating to provide next-level protection, from AI-powered cameras and advanced sensors to our Active Guard Outdoor Protection service. We design our hardware, software, and services in-house, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience. Our new headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, features a dedicated research and development lab and a maker space, underscoring our commitment to continuous innovation. We've expanded our offerings to include products like the Video Doorbell Pro and the Smart Lock, and we've integrated with popular smart home platforms like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. We believe that home security is a fundamental need, not a luxury, and we strive to empower our customers with the peace of mind that comes from knowing their homes and loved ones are protected.
