Susan G. Komen is dedicated to combating breast cancer on multiple fronts, addressing the most critical needs within communities and investing in groundbreaking research to prevent and ultimately cure this devastating disease. Our customers, individuals and families impacted by breast cancer, face immense challenges – from navigating complex medical information and accessing quality care to coping with the emotional and financial burdens of diagnosis and treatment. That's why we strive to be their trusted partner, providing comprehensive support every step of the way. We understand that a breast cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, which is why our Patient Care Center serves as a go-to resource for timely, accurate breast health and breast cancer information, services, and connections to vital resources. We work to empower patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health. Since our founding in 1982, a promise between two sisters, Nancy G. Brinker and Susan G. Komen, has fueled our mission. We have invested significantly in research, contributing to major advancements in breast cancer science and a notable decline in mortality rates. Our community health programs focus on ensuring equitable access to high-quality care, including screening, education, and treatment services, particularly for those who are most vulnerable. We recognize that ending breast cancer requires a multifaceted approach. Therefore, we also advocate for policies that prioritize breast cancer research and support patient needs at local, state, and federal levels. Through events like the Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®, we mobilize a passionate grassroots network of survivors, activists, and supporters, fostering a community of hope and action. Our global reach extends to numerous countries, where we work with local health groups to overcome barriers to breast health and treatment, ensuring that our impact is felt worldwide.
