Tipico has grown from a small, innovative bookmaker into an internationally active group of companies, holding licenses from the Malta Gaming Authority and a German sports betting concession from the Darmstadt Regional Council, among others. The company operates not only in Malta but also has physical locations and offices in Germany (Karlsruhe, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt), Austria, Croatia, Poland, and Gibraltar. In 2019, Tipico expanded its operations to the United States, establishing a permanent location in Hoboken, New Jersey, and partnering with Ocean Casino and Resort in Atlantic City. Its U.S. products and services are regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. However, in June 2024, Tipico sold its U.S. sportsbook and online casino product and technology platform to LeoVegas, a subsidiary of MGM Resorts International. The Tipico Group employs over 1,800 people directly, with an additional 6,000 individuals working within its affiliated franchise network across Germany and Austria, which comprises more than 1,250 betting shops. The company emphasizes a strong corporate culture based on trust, progress, and passion. Tipico positions itself as an innovative technology enterprise, focused on providing a secure and engaging sports betting experience. This includes a commitment to player protection, cooperating with regulatory authorities, and supporting sports integrity initiatives. Tipico partners with various organizations to monitor suspicious betting activities and works with institutions like the IAP TU Dresden and Gambling Therapy for player protection. The company is also a significant partner in the sports world, with notable sponsorships including being an official partner of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, a platinum partner to FC Bayern München, and an official co-partner of the DFB Pokal and DFB Women's Pokal.
