What You'll Do

Oversee daily field operations while working alongside the team to complete vegetation management and stormwater maintenance projects. You'll ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a field crew to safely complete daily work assignments.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding project schedules, progress, and expectations.
  • Promote a positive team culture built around safety, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Apply herbicides and perform vegetation management using a variety of spray equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair stormwater conveyance systems and related infrastructure.
  • Safely operate trucks, trailers, UTVs, tractors, zero-turn mowers, slope mowers, and other specialized equipment.
  • Operate chainsaws, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other handheld equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete electronic reports, safety documentation, and daily job records using mobile technology.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Assist with training and developing crew members.
  • Identify hazards, solve problems in the field, and communicate effectively with management.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who leads by example and enjoys helping others succeed.

Required Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older, high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead a crew and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading landscaping, vegetation management, construction, utility, environmental, or public works crews.
  • State herbicide applicator license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC Card within 120 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires:

  • Working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and varying terrain.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Working around water, slopes, confined spaces, and natural wildlife.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
