Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Modelling

• Design, maintain and enhance enterprise data models across key business domains such as Customer, Policy, Product, Distribution, Claims, Finance and Operations.
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models aligned with enterprise data architecture and analytics objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve data model coverage across operational and analytical platforms.
• Define consistent business entities, attributes, relationships and standard business definitions.
• Partner with business users, solution architects and data engineers to translate business requirements into scalable data models.

Semantic Layer & Analytics Enablement

• Design and maintain semantic models that support self-service analytics, reporting and AI-enabled use cases.
• Develop business-friendly semantic layers and curated data structures within Snowflake.
• Define reusable business metrics, dimensions, hierarchies and measures to promote enterprise-wide consistency.
• Support AI and GenAI initiatives by establishing clear business terminology, semantic relationships and reusable business definitions.

Data Product Design & Documentation

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to translate data models into implementation-ready specifications.
• Produce data mapping documents, business glossaries, metadata definitions, lineage documentation and ER diagrams.
• Support the onboarding and integration of new data sources into the enterprise data model.
• Review proposed data structures to ensure alignment with enterprise data modelling standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with business and technology teams to understand data requirements and business concepts.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to define enterprise business entities, relationships and standard definitions.
• Contribute to strategic data initiatives, including enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, cloud data platforms and AI-driven programmes.

Requirements

Experience

• Experience in Data Modelling, Analytics Engineering, Semantic Layer Development or a related data discipline.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling principles.
• Experience designing semantic models, including business entities, dimensions, measures, hierarchies, joins and reusable metrics.
• Ability to translate business terminology and reporting requirements into scalable data models and implementation-ready specifications.
• Strong SQL skills with experience working on large-scale data platforms.
• Experience producing ER diagrams, business glossaries, metadata documentation and source-to-target mapping.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience within the financial services or insurance industry will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Experience with Snowflake, including curated data models, analytical views and business-facing data structures, is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of semantic layer design for analytics, reporting, dashboards and AI-enabled data consumption.
• Familiarity with business glossary design, metadata management, data product modelling and metrics modelling.
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud, AWS S3, Airflow or similar cloud data technologies is advantageous.
• Knowledge of AI, GenAI, knowledge graphs, business ontologies or semantic modelling concepts will be beneficial.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems or a related discipline.
